Taking a Look 'Under the Hood' with the Mortech Status Page

Posted by Brian Kohel on May 25, 2017 12:34:37 PM

Recently I went to a car show and was blown away by all of the real-time stats available on the dashboards of the newer vehicles (and, of course, the new car smell). Things like individual tire pressure, exact engine temp, oil pressure, etc. were all available for the driver to see in on convenient place. It got me thinking about Mortech’s status page - just like a car’s dashboard, the status page is a real-time look into Mortech’s system performance.

Really, you should think of Marksman as your vehicle to retrieving fast accurate pricing, giving a glance at all of the different services Mortech provides. Whether it be Marksman Rates, Lead Posting Services, or email marketing just to name a few, all have a real-time status to show on this page. If Marksman is your vehicle, then think of this status page as your personal dashboard. Not only does this page help us be more transparent with you about availability and performance of Mortech products and services, but allows you to quickly and easily check on the status of your 'vehicle' without having to call your 'mechanic' - your Mortech account manager, in this case.

Support Squad: Help at Your Fingertips

Posted by Brian Kohel on Feb 7, 2017 1:05:23 PM

How many times have you had a question pop into your head late at night, long after people in your office or anyone who might know the answer has left for the day? Chances are too many times, and we’ve had the same thing happen to us too! We’ve recently launched our online Help Center to assist in any after-hours questions that might arise.

The Help Center allows for our customers to find help and answer their questions whenever they need them. Some of our most common issues we hear about are addressed in the Help Center already, but it doesn’t stop there. This is an ever evolving project, and we encourage you to utilize it whenever possible, and we recognize it is still in an infant state of development. That’s where you come in, if you have a question you feel should be addressed in the Help Center let us know and our documentation team will work on getting it added.

Support Squad: Summer Vacation

Posted by Brian Kohel on Jun 22, 2016 2:44:57 PM

Along with being a busy time for home buyers, the summer months are also filled with vacations. In fact, I just got back from a week out of the office, and it was awesome to relax and recharge. While I was out I knew my coworkers would be able to answer any questions my clients brought forward. Which got me thinking upon my return about how Marksman can assist with staff being out of the office.

Support Squad: Navigating a Roundabout

Posted by Brian Kohel on Jun 15, 2016 12:38:44 PM

Sometimes more is less, especially when it comes to making a decision of where to go next. I don’t know why, but I do not like multi-lane, multi-exit roundabouts. I get it, they are designed to keep traffic moving, but if I’m on a road I’ve never been on, it is nerve-wracking.  Roundabouts with one lane and one or two definitive exits are way easier as I have less of a chance of picking an errant path.

Support Squad: Line Change

Posted by Brian Kohel on May 23, 2016 12:34:04 PM

This is one of the first times in my life I’ve really paid any attention to hockey. The sport just wasn’t available for me to play growing up, so I guess it’s a case of out-of-sight, out-of-mind. One of the things I find fascinating is all of the line changes occurring throughout the game. So my thought is even if you don’t start, that doesn’t mean two minutes later you’re not in the game; seeing so many different combinations of personnel is really fascinating to me. So how often do you have a line change of products available to your clients?

Support Squad: Who's Writing Your Playbook?

Posted by Brian Kohel on Mar 2, 2016 2:01:44 PM

Coaching youth sports has allowed me to utilize some creativity when designing plays, as well as placing the players in situations for them to shine and help the team achieve success. Obviously different sports require different skills for the athletes to be successful, and as the coach, it’s my job to both determine the best spots for different players, and what plays are the best to run for them to succeed. Mortech allows you to do the same thing with data we can provide to you through our API (application program interface) capability.

Support Squad: Evolve to Involve

Posted by Brian Kohel on Feb 15, 2016 12:33:06 PM

Over the last week I have had the opportunity to attend Parent/Teacher conferences for my children, getting to know their teachers and talking about my kids’ progress through school. The whole process has changed dramatically since I was a student; now parents can stay up-to-date with homework, grades, activities, as well as communicate with the teachers via their landing page on the school website. It hasn’t been that long since I was in school (at least, that’s what I’m telling myself) and the entire experience has evolved, giving parents more opportunities to be involved. At the simple click of a button I can communicate with my child’s teacher, not only on parent teacher conference night, but any day throughout the school year.

Support Squad: When Who You Know Isn’t Enough

Posted by Brian Kohel on Feb 2, 2016 12:02:03 PM

It appears the old saying, “It’s not what you know, it’s who you know” isn’t always true. Take the 2015 Nebraska Cornhusker Football team, going to a bowl game with only 5 regular season wins. Bowl games are normally reserved for teams who have at least 6 regular season wins, unless there aren’t enough of those teams to fill all of the bowl games slotted. What happens then, how do they decide who is eligible and who isn’t? This scenario quickly turns to, “It’s what you know.” The teams with the highest APR’s (not what you think … Academic Progress Rate) are then chosen to participate, of which Nebraska had the highest.
